Daniel Riera was born in Olot, Spain. He studied Fine Arts and photography at the University of Barcelona and cinema at the Escola De Mitjans Audiovisuals (EMAV).
Daniel regularly contributes fashion stories, portraits, and personal projects to publications such as Fantastic Man, The Gentlewoman, The Happy Reader, Vogue Hommes International, Hercules Universal, Vogue Ukraine, Spanish Vogue, ASS’T, Apartamento and Candy among others.
His book “Riera / Tengiz” appeared in the EY! BOY Collection (by Luis Venegas) issue N.2 (2015)
His advertising clients include Adidas, Corneliani, COS, Dior, Hermès, J.M.Weston, Mango, Mühlbauer, Pedro García, UNIQLO, Victorinox, We Are Spastor and Zegna among others.
Daniel has photographed many personalities including Olly Alexander, Arca, Rosalía, Samuel L.Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Vincent Cassel, Michael Stipe, Sandra Oh, Alain-Fabien Delon, Ellar Coltane, Aaron Paul, Chris Moukarbel, Rossy de Palma, Amanda Lear, Nick Rhodes, Gary Barlow, Rick Owens, Olivier Giroud, Roberto Bolle, Matija Ferlin, Gaspard Ulliel, Devendra Banhart, Craig Green, M.I.A., Mark Ronson, James Ransone, Mènage-Á-Trois, Proenza Schouler, Virgil Abloh, Kellan Lutz, Nico Muhly, Paco Rabanne, Marc Márquez, Isabel Coixet or Mr. Stan Smith.
He has shot CD cover art for musicians such as Josep Xortó and The Congosound, Evripidis and his Tragedies, Kim Ann Foxman, Marina Rossell, Loquillo or Maria del Mar Bonet among many more. He filmed the videoclip “1959” for Evripidis and his Tragedies and “Hacerme daño” for Maranges.
